CMIA Enterprises Champion the Evolution of Chongqing's Modern Manufacturing Cluster

Chongqing- At the upcoming 17th Annual Meeting of the Chongqing Mayor's International Economic Advisory Council (CMIA), several leading manufacturing companies will help Chongqing to set up the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce on September 17.

Following a conference in June, Chongqing's city officials expressed their commitment to the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system, forming three dominant industrial clusters for electronic information manufacturing, intelligent connected and new energy vehicles, and advanced materials while strengthening efforts to foster its six key industrial sectors.

This transformative move is not an isolated effort, with the suggestion, investment, and involvement of world-renowned enterprises from the CMIA. Forming partnerships with them has spanned several sectors, from automotive and electronics to advanced equipment manufacturing, many of which have already set their investment sights on Chongqing.

The recent announcement from Hitachi Energy showcases this strategic collaboration. Positioned in the Liangjiang New Area, the Energy Global Transformer Intelligent Manufacturing Base is one of the world's largest and most sophisticated production facilities.

With an annual output of over 50,000 megawatts, this endeavor satisfies escalating domestic and international demands and augments Chongqing's transformer industry. The project's fruition promises to reinforce Chongqing's equipment manufacturing prowess and bolster the clean energy transformation across the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Ford has firmly established its presence in Chongqing, particularly in the Liangjiang New Area. As Chongqing evolves into Ford's most extensive production base outside Michigan, its commitment aligns perfectly with the "33618" system. The focus on intelligent connected new energy vehicles (NEVs) is anticipated to be one of Chongqing's trillion-dollar industries, paving the way for a more robust automotive supply chain.

"Chongqing's horizon is expansive, and we foresee abundant collaborative opportunities with our advisory enterprises through the CMIA platform," said spokesperson of the Secretariat of the 17th Annual Meeting of the CMIA.

The Secretariat of the 17th Annual Meeting of the CMIA unveiled that 36 enterprises are currently involved, the majority of which are manufacturing giants. Their engagement in Chongqing's industrial blueprint reveals in electronic information manufacturing, esteemed names include Ford, Isuzu, AT&S, HP Inc., Qualcomm, and SK Hynix. Especially, Cummins, Kawasaki Robotics, and FANUC have a strong voice in equipment manufacturing. 

Additionally, renowned companies like Corning, Ericsson, Siemens, Carlsberg, and Honeywell International are diving into fields such as digital technology, new displays, integrated circuits, agriculture, and food processing, which are part of the "33168" system, offering their support to Chongqing.
