"Lung cancer has a high incidence rate, and the mortality rate is also very high. Early screening for lung cancer is essential." The "Research on Non-Invasive Early Screening Technology for Lung Cancer" project leader, which won the gold award in the Global Outstanding Engineer Competition, explained that the best way to screen for lung cancer is through low-dose thin-slice CT scans. However, it requires the formation of a cancer cell cluster of a certain size to be detectable. DNA methylation is a good marker for early lung cancer screening, and their team focuses on DNA methylation research. By extracting bodily fluids through blood sampling, they conduct DNA methylation tests, which can detect cell cancer changes earlier than CT scans.
As an important part of the conference, Chongqing organized two tracks: "Challenge Competition" and "Innovation Challenge" in eight professional fields, including intelligent connected new energy vehicles, new-generation information technology, advanced materials, biomedicine, and big health.
"These participating projects are highly professional and practical, aiming to solve technical challenges, mobilize resource forces, land high-quality projects, and gather engineering talent. We aim to gather talent through competition, promote research through competition, and stimulate business through competition," said the person in charge of the competition office. So far, more than 55% of the projects in the competition have made progress in transformation, helping companies solve 201 problems, with 391 projects applying for excellent results transformation awards, involving an amount of 3.22 billion yuan.
