Chongqing - The first batch of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) was recently dispatched from the Complete Vehicle and KD Parts Bonded Export Project Distribution Center via the China-Europe Railway Express (Yuxinou Railway), destined for European export.
Over 5,000 complete vehicles and Knock Down (KD) parts have completed their entry declaration at the Complete Vehicle Bonded Export Distribution Center, indicating its preliminary establishment. This center is strategically located in the Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone of the Western (Chongqing) Science City, helping vehicle export operations.
"Once exported vehicles enter the comprehensive bonded zone, they are considered as having been exported," explained a responsible person from the Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone. "Enterprises can then receive tax rebates immediately upon entry into the zone, improving the efficiency of their capital turnover."
Currently, more than 5,000 complete vehicles and KD parts have been declared for entry into the zone, marking the first step in the export process, involving a total value of about 800 million RMB (USD 111.76 million).
Domestic car manufacturers have recently built numerous KD assembly plants and complete vehicle factories overseas. Once components arrive at these overseas KD factories, they can be directly assembled into complete vehicles.
Chongqing's car factories urgently need to export many KD parts each year. The smooth operation of the KD business benefits from the flexible "checkpoint" system of the Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
The majority of complete vehicle and KD parts bonded exports use extra-long vehicle transportation. Previously, due to the excessive length of the vehicles, the rate of checkpoint issues remained high, preventing an increase in the utilization rate of extra-long vehicles and keeping transportation costs high.
The Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone has applied IoT technology, established dedicated channels for extra-long vehicles, built specialized weighbridges, and opened a "green light" for the passage of these vehicles.
This has enabled automatic switching and accurate clearance between extra-long and regular freight vehicles, increasing the number of extra-long vehicles passing through from initially 200 per month to about 2,000 per month.
Next, the Western (Chongqing) Science City will actively build a regional automotive ecosystem, accelerate the development of the automotive market industry, promote domestic cars to sell globally, and help domestic manufacturers speed up their development in overseas markets.
