Chongqing Bishan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone has become one of the first nationally designated intelligent industrial parks. The Ministry of Science and Technology has included it in the regional pilot units for scientific and technological services.
In recent years, theZone has vigorously promoted the development of four major industrial clusters: intelligent connected new-energy vehicles, electronic information, intelligent equipment, and healthcare. It aims to construct a modern industrial system and build a high-quality development model area. It has successfully integratedinto the construction scope of the Western (Chongqing) Science City and the core construction area of Chongqing National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone.
As of the end of 2022, the Zone had attracted 1,725 enterprises, including Konka and Tsingshan Industrial. Among them, 384 were industrial enterprises above the designated size. These industrial enterprises achieved a total industrial output value of 92.3 billion yuan ($12.75 billion), with a value-added of 28 billion yuan.
In the same period, the Zone achieved a digital economy output value of 49.48 billion yuan, a 37.3 percent year-on-year increase. Fixed asset investment reached 18.7 billion yuan, with industrial investment at 16.65 billion yuan, up 14.8percent.
It hosts twoacademicianworkstations, onenational-level enterprise technology center, 149 municipal R&D platforms, onenational-level innovation space, onenational-level incubator, and threemunicipal-level incubators. There are 350 high-tech enterprisesand 1,577 technology-based enterprises. In 2022, the comprehensive ranking of Chongqing Bishan High-Tech Industrial Development Zonerose to 78thamong national high-tech industrial development zones.
By 2025, the Zoneaims to achieve a total industrial output value of 180 billion yuan for its industrial enterprises above the designated size, with an average annual growth rate of 28percent.
