Chongqing - On May 18, 2024, Chongqing Chinabase Import and Export Co., Ltd. participated in the inaugural Land-Sea Economic Forum hosted by the Western China International Communication Organization.
During the forum's "Made in Chongqing" industry overseas resources matchmaking session, Wen Hua, Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Chinabase Import and Export Co., Ltd. and Chief Representative of Representative Office of CCPIT Chongqing Committee in Kenya, shared valuable experiences and strategic insights on expanding into the Kenyan and African markets. He provided practical guidance and advice on external environments, market conditions, investment policies, and legal regulations to other companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises looking to enter the African market.
Established in 1985, Chongqing Chinabase is a comprehensive trade service company primarily engaged in international trade, with additional operations in domestic trade, investment cooperation, and other business areas. The company has developed a growth model of "promoting investment through trade and enhancing trade through investment" while providing clients comprehensive one-stop services in trade, logistics, financing, and tendering agency.
Leveraging its Chinese Centre for Promotion of Investment, Development and Trade in Kenya Limited, Chongqing Chinabase, with solid support from CCPIT Chongqing and CCPIT Sichuan, established the "Kenya Sichuan-Chongqing Commodity Exhibition and Sales Center." This initiative helps Sichuan and Chongqing enterprises to penetrate the Kenyan market deeply. Through the Chinese Centre, Chongqing Chinabase partnered with Kenyan investors to establish the LUTON Hospital, the only comprehensive hospital in Kenya funded by Chinese capital. The hospital includes outpatient services, inpatient wards, laboratories, operating rooms, a specialty dental clinic, and ophthalmology services. The project plans to introduce China-Kenya telemedicine in diagnostics, bringing advanced Chinese medical technology to Kenyan patients. Additionally, it considers establishing medical and nursing schools, inviting Chinese doctors for consultations and academic exchanges, and promoting traditional Chinese medicine in Kenya and Africa.
During the forum, Chongqing Chinabase signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chongqing Pingchuang Institute of Semiconductors Co., Ltd. This collaboration aims to foster mutual benefits in technology exchange and market expansion while deepening economic cooperation and cultural exchange between China and Africa.
The inaugural Land-Sea Economic Forum provided a platform for Chongqing enterprises looking to expand internationally, integrating resources from supporting service enterprises like Chongqing Chinabase and China CITIC Bank. It plays a significant role in building Chongqing as an inland open highland and promoting the integrated development of land-sea economies.
