China-Europe Railway Express Achieves Two-Way Connection via Caspian

Chongqing - The China-Europe Railway Express recently transported a batch of automobile parts from Chongqing to Duisburg, Germany, via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. This marks the further exploration and strategic extension of the China-Europe Railway Express on the southern corridor since the operation of the direct rail line to Türkiye in July.

The route started from the Tuanjie Village Station in Chongqing and spans over 11,000 kilometers. It passes through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and the Black Sea, with a transfer in Türkiye. The journey continues through Bulgaria and Romania, ultimately reaching Duisburg, Germany, via a rail-sea intermodal transport method.

In early July, to help two local manufacturing companies address the import transportation for raw materials, the local logistics company, Yuxinou (Chongqing) Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., transported two batches of goods from Germany, including plastic sheets and starch ethers, back to Chongqing via the trans-Caspian corridor. 

This initiative not only resolved the urgent needs of the companies but also signifies the opening of the return route through the trans-Caspian corridor. The smooth operation of this outbound route achieves a two-way connection for the China-Europe Railway Express on the direct path to the heart of Europe via the trans-Caspian.

Chen Shuang, Manager of the operations center at Yuxinou, emphasized that the introduction of the Trans-Caspian route is a strategic response to the urgent demands of the current market. The launch of this route is not only a timely solution to the disruptions in international logistics caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict but also a proactive step toward ensuring the long-term stability of supply chains.

Since its debut in May 2022, the southern corridor route of the China-Europe Railway Express from Chongqing has been operating regularly, establishing itself as a reliable link between Asia and Europe. Yuxinou's plans to introduce a direct rail route from Türkiye to Europe will further enhance transportation efficiency, reinforcing the China-Europe Railway Express as a cornerstone of global trade and logistics.
