Chongqing - From September 5 to 6, a German delegation visited Chongqing Yongchuan to inspect key projects. They aimed to enhance Sino-German collaboration in intelligent manufacturing and foster technological exchange and industrial synergy.
At Great Wall Motor Yongchuan Production Base, the delegation thoroughly examined the intelligent manufacturing processes of Great Wall Motor.
Uwe Kurt Fritsch, Uwe Fritsch Strategie & Beratung GmbH-Geschäftsführer, a Former Member of the VW Global Board, praised the Great Wall Cannon and expressed a keen interest in driving it. He remarked on the rapid growth of China's new energy vehicle sector, which has demonstrated impressive global market performance, and highlighted the strong competitiveness of Chinese manufacturing.
At Chongqing City Vocational College, the delegation observed practical training in new energy vehicle specializations, including cutting-edge fields such as autonomous driving and battery technology.
Rüdiger Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of Oskar Kämmer Schule, praised the college's vocational education model for effectively integrating theory with practice through school-enterprise collaboration.
He also said the similarities between the vocational education systems of China and Germany, highlighting the potential for promising cooperation in this area.
At the Yongchuan Planning Exhibition Hall, the delegation gained a vivid understanding of the city's development blueprint.
Dr. Jürgen Hilp, Professor at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim, recognized Yongchuan's attractive urban environment, efficient transportation, and favorable government policies. He suggested that these factors could encourage more German companies to view Yongchuan as a potential investment destination.
Dr. Tilo Steinmeier, Managing Director of C4 Laser Technology GmbH, acknowledged Yongchuan's swift progress in the new energy vehicle sector and highlighted its strong potential for future market competitiveness.
In the past five years, Yongchuan has provided more than 300 skilled professionals to German companies like Liebherr, SW, and Bosch. The Sino-German Industrial Park also illustrates the expanding industrial clustering impact of Sino-German collaboration.
Heiko Martin, managing partner of Transfact GmbH, expressed a strong interest in establishing a presence in Chongqing because it would allow for further cooperation in intelligent manufacturing.
The delegation visited the Big Data Industrial Park and toured the Baidu Robotaxi project, gaining insight into intelligent driving technology's current and future state.
At the symposium between Chongqing Yongchuan and the German delegation, Willi Ruopp, CEO of CNCTeile24 GmbH, highlighted Chongqing's significant development potential, especially in green and clean energy manufacturing, with active participation from the delegation members.
Ruopp noted that Chongqing provides not only abundant talent resources but also well-developed infrastructure, offering a strong foundation for investment and cooperation.
Both parties signed a memorandum of understanding on vocational education and intelligent manufacturing. This visit established a strong foundation for enhancing Sino-German cooperation in these areas, including technology research and development.
