This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the National People's Congress.
To showcase the tremendous changes in China, the Western International Communication Center has launched an English video series titled The Stories of Grassroots-level Legislation Contact Points. Through focused stories, this series highlights how Grassroots-level Legislation Contact Points gather public opinion in the legislative process, ensuring that legislation reflects the diverse demands of society, balances various interests, and fosters the Centripetal Force in national and social governance, illustrating why China’s whole-process people's democracy is true democracy.
In this episode, our host Alex visits the Grassroots-level Legislation Contact Point in the Zhongxinwan Community of Shapingba District. Accompanying the officer from the Contact Point, Huang Xueli, he goes to Bishan Secondary School, and participates in a consultation meeting for the Chongqing Parking Management Regulations, observing the practice of whole-process people's democracy at the grassroots-level in China from his perspective.
