Chongqing - Dr. Tseng Hsien Cho, the Associate Medical Director at Raffles Hospital Chongqing, was born in China's Taiwan region and later became a Singaporean citizen. With deep historical ties to Chongqing, Dr. Tseng's journey reflects a unique blend of personal and professional connections to the city.
During the War of Resistance, his father was born in Chongqing, where his grandfather served as an officer. Growing up in a military-dependent village in Taiwan, he frequently heard neighbors speaking the Chongqing dialect, which led him to believe it was the only dialect in China.
Now assigned to work in Chongqing, he feels deeply emotional, seeing his return as a full circle in his family's journey.
