Avatr 12 New Models Launch in Chongqing: Cars of the Future

Chongqing - Avatr Technology, an enterprise in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, held a launch event for the new Avatr 12 dual-power model on November 2. The event introduced six new models in range-extended and pure electric variants.

At the event, Chen Zhuo, President of Avatr Technology, gave a detailed overview of the Avatr 12's improvements in power, range, smart driving, and safety features.

The Avatr 12 range-extended model uses self-developed technology and a CATL battery. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds—only 0.5 seconds slower than when fully charged. It also maintains consistent power across 25 consecutive accelerations, ensuring strong performance after multiple rapid boosts.

The pure electric version is equipped with Huawei's latest electric drive system, allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, offering a powerful and lasting driving experience.

The Avatr 12 extended-range model offers a maximum pure electric range of 245 km and a total range of up to 1,155 km. It is also the only extended-range vehicle in the industry that can run on 92-octane gasoline, helping to ease users' range anxiety.

In addition to improved power performance, the Avatr 12 is equipped with advanced intelligent driving technologies, including Huawei's Qian Kun Intelligent Driving ADS 3.0 system across all models. This system autonomously learns and simulates human driving decisions, providing an efficient and safe smart driving experience.

For example, it supports automatic parking in an underground lot or on-street spaces. The navigation assist function has also been significantly improved, allowing the vehicle to independently navigate parking lot gates, roundabouts, and U-turns, enhancing urban mobility convenience.

The Avatr 12 also features significant upgrades in active safety, with a maximum braking speed of 120 km/h and effective coverage ranging from 4 km/h to 150 km/h.

In addition to its strong active safety features, the Avatr 12 includes robust passive safety measures, such as a hybrid cage design made from ultra-high-strength steel and aluminum, eight safety airbags, and rear-side airbags.

The launch event attracted numerous international guests, who shared their impressions of Avatr 12. Victoria and Vadim, social media influencers, expressed to reporters that the Avatr 12, the NEV produced in Chongqing, is particularly appealing in terms of design, intelligent driving, and safety. Vadim remarked, "It's mostly like a car of the future."

Martin Hinkens, Chongqing Tourism Promotion Ambassador, noted that when choosing a new energy vehicle, he prioritizes safety and price, both of which the Avatr 12 meets. The official pricing for the six models of the Avatr 12 starts at 269,900 yuan (USD 38,032.96).
