Chongqing – In a recent exclusive interview with Bridging News, Wan Nianyong, General Manager of Changan Minsheng APLL Logistics Co., Ltd., emphasized the pivotal role of the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) in reshaping the global logistics landscape, particularly in terms of policy, industry chains, and logistics corridors.
As a leading global and domestic automobile logistics company, Changan Minsheng APLL Logistics Co., Ltd. has bolstered its core competencies in key areas such as port services, international trunk transportation, and base logistics. The company has also built a global logistics operations team and enhanced its service guarantee system, now covering over 60 countries and regions as well as hundreds of ports and land terminals.
Wan highlighted that the company has successfully implemented a four-way service model. For example, leveraging the Yangtze River Golden Waterway to the east, it is developing a global supply chain service that integrates river-sea transport and domestic and international endpoints. To the west and north, the company is actively exploring innovative transportation models for Central Asia and China Railway Express, including new approaches like railway cage cars combined with road transport and regular chartered ships integrated with railways.
"Our primary goal is to ensure that Chongqing-made vehicles reach international markets," Wan explained. The company has exported and shipped over 800,000 vehicles to clients, including Changan Automobile and Changan Ford.
From January to November 2024, the company exported 316,300 complete vehicles, a 65.2 percent increase from 2023. Additionally, 17,062 sets of KD (knockdown) kits were exported, a 170.18 percent increase from the previous year.
Wan further noted that the growth in vehicle exports reflects the company's robust logistics capabilities and strategic investments in expanding its global network. "This achievement is a result of our continuous innovation and deepening integration with international and domestic transportation channels," he said.
As the global automotive industry faces increasing demand for efficient and reliable supply chains, Changan Minsheng APLL Logistics Co., Ltd. is committed to enhancing its service offerings. The company is focusing on optimizing transportation efficiency, ensuring timely delivery, and reducing logistics costs for its clients. "We are constantly refining our logistics models to align with global trade trends and meet the evolving needs of our customers," Wan added.
In addition to expanding its corridor network, the company has also strengthened its key resource base. For example, Changan Automobile's plant in Thailand is set to begin trial production this year, with full-scale production expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025.
Changan Minsheng Logistics has closely followed this development by establishing a joint venture in Rayong Province, Thailand. Through the ILSTC, Changan Automobile's finished vehicles and KD parts will be transported swiftly between China and ASEAN countries. This enhanced connectivity, both domestically and internationally, will support Changan Automobile in its goal of building a world-class automotive brand.
Looking ahead, Wan emphasized the company's ambition to continue driving the development of the ILSTC. "By improving the connectivity of road, rail, and sea transport, we aim to foster greater integration across regions and contribute to the growth of global trade and the automobile industry," he concluded.
