Chongqing Enhances Vehicle Exports to Southeast Asia and Europe via ILSTC

Chongqing - On February 6, a JSQ-type special train carrying 281 cars manufactured in Chongqing departed from Yuzui Station. This marks the 15th Chongqing-made special train to leave Yuzui Station since the beginning of the Year of the Snake.

JSQ, a specialized rail transport solution, offers large-capacity, stable carriages that allow commercial vehicles to drive directly on them. This route improves vehicle transport safety, speed, efficiency, and eco-friendliness.

"During the Spring Festival, trains transporting completed vehicles from Chongqing leave Yuzui Station daily, heading to Southeast Asian and European markets via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China Railway Express," said Li Xue, assistant economist at the Yuzui Sales Department of the Chongqing Railway Logistics Center.

Chongqing is a renowned automotive hub with a well-developed automobile industry. In recent years, the city has promoted Chongqing cars going overseas, deeply integrating them into the global automotive supply chain and value chain systems.

In 2024, Chongqing's auto exports reached 477,000 units, a 29.6% increase from the previous year. The total cargo value reached 43.11 billion yuan (about 6.04 billion USD), a 30% year-on-year growth, making it a key driver of the city's foreign trade exports.

A station representative explained that vehicle prioritization for requests, allocation, loading, and unloading has been implemented for the transported automobiles. Moving forward, efforts will be made to enhance hardware and software facilities to improve local auto export transportation.

Additionally, multimodal transportation, including road-rail, river-rail, and rail-sea transport, will be further promoted. This approach combines high efficiency with low costs, aiming to increase the global reach of Chongqing-made cars.

Moving forward, the Chongqing Railway Logistics Center will continue providing customers with high-quality, comprehensive services, addressing their personalized transportation needs and ensuring stronger support for exporting Chongqing vehicles. With the Chongqing cars going overseas plan, the city's automotive industry is set to upgrade rapidly and attract global attention.
