Chongqing – On March 13, the 55901 high-speed inspection train set off from Chongqing East Railway Station to inspect the newly constructed Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway, focusing on the Chongqing East to Qianjiang section. This marks the debut of the first EMU on this stretch, moving the railway closer to full operation.
Chongqing East Railway Station, the largest high-speed rail hub in Western China, entered the joint commissioning and testing phase.
The high-speed inspection train, known as "Doctor Yellow" due to its distinctive yellow color, is equipped with advanced instruments, including track geometry and vehicle dynamics detection devices, line status monitoring tools, and data processing systems.

While in operation, the train performs dynamic inspections of the tracks, roadbeds, communication signals, and contact networks. As the train's speed gradually increases, it collects and analyzes data to ensure that each system meets the design requirements.
Currently, the Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway is in the joint commissioning and testing phase. This process follows the railway department's static acceptance of the project, confirming it meets the criteria for joint commissioning.
During this phase, test trains and equipment are used for comprehensive testing, verification, adjustment, and optimization of the railway's systems, ensuring they meet the design standards and are ready for opening and operation at the planned speed.
The Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway is a crucial part of the national railway network. It stretches from Chongqing Station, passing through Yuzhong, Nan'an, Banan, Nanchuan, Wulong, and Pengshui, and concludes in Qianjiang District. The design speed of the line is 350 kilometers per hour.
Once completed and operational, the Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway will reduce the current 4-hour journey from Chongqing's city center to Qianjiang District to under 1 hour.
This improvement holds significant importance for advancing the Yangtze River Economic Belt strategy, enhancing the high-speed railway network, expediting the creation of a key rail corridor between Chongqing and Xiamen, and boosting the economic and social development of the regions along the line.
