Chongqing - The Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference, themed "Pooling Talent in New Chongqing, Joining Efforts for a New Future," will be held from November 23 to 24 at the Yuelai International Convention Center, according to a press conference held on Monday.
The conference will feature 13 main activities, including the opening ceremony, a summit promoting high-quality talent for Western development, and sector-specific events such as a talent matchmaking meeting for intelligent connected new energy vehicles and a cooperation meeting for the next generation of electronic information manufacturing. These activities are designed to foster collaboration in high-demand industries.
A key highlight of the press conference was the event's international reach. Distinguished guests include foreign dignitaries from countries like Serbia, representatives from global organizations such as UNESCO, and academicians from prestigious institutions like the Royal Academy of Engineering. Hundreds of overseas PhDs and top talents have also been invited to participate, underscoring the conference's global engagement and high-caliber participation.
Among the key competitions, the Global Excellent Engineers Competition 2024 stands out with its two tracks: the main and special competitions. The competition gathers technical challenges and award-winning units from across the globe, encouraging engineers worldwide to contribute their expertise. It has already attracted 1,075 teams from 31 countries and regions.
Similarly, the "Xingyu Cup" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Competition focuses on industrial clusters and features four distinct tracks: leading, pillar, characteristic and advantageous, and rising star clusters. A total of 688 projects from 24 countries and regions have been submitted. The finals for both competitions will take place on November 22 at the Yuelai International Convention Center.
The conference will also feature several strategic announcements, including the launch of six talent development platforms, signing over 20 strategic cooperation agreements, and releasing a list detailing talent needs in key industries across the Western China region.
Furthermore, more than 60 research findings will be shared, including the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor talent development index and China's digital economy talent development report (western edition).
The Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference is poised to be vital in establishing Chongqing as a key talent hub and innovation center in western China.
