Chongqing - On April 19, Avatr Technology, a NEV brand under Changan Automobile in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, launched its fourth model, the Avatr 06, in collaboration with Huawei and CATL.
More than a mere product launch, the event marked a strategic milestone for the brand, laying the groundwork for Avatr’s future direction. Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Avatr Technology, announced at the launch that the company is striving to go public in Hong Kong by 2026 and will accelerate its expansion into overseas markets.

According to Zhu, Avatr plans to enter over 50 countries by 2025, aiming for annual overseas sales of 15,000 vehicles. Beyond the newly released sedan Avatr 06, the company also plans to introduce mid-to-large-sized SUVs next year.
Avatr's long-term ambitions reflect its confidence in future growth. Zhu revealed that the company is targeting global sales of 400,000 vehicles by 2027, with total revenue reaching 100 billion yuan (approximately $ 13.70 billion). By 2030, Avatr aims to double global sales to 800,000 units.
According to Avatr, its full-year sales in 2024 totaled 73,606 vehicles, representing approximately 73% of its 100,000-unit annual target. For 2025, the brand has set a more ambitious goal of 220,000 units.
To help boost sales momentum, the lower-priced Avatr 06 plays a crucial role. Even during the pre-sale period, it achieved an impressive result, securing over 20,000 orders within just 26 hours, demonstrating strong potential to become a breakout hit.
In addition to a striking design, the model features Huawei’s intelligent driving system and CATL’s high-performance supercharging battery — all at the most accessible price point in Avatr’s lineup to date. Pricing starts at 209,900 yuan, with limited-time discounts reducing the price to as low as 191,900 yuan.
He Jixuan, Editor of Only Auto, noted that at this price level, the Avatr 06 — powered by technologies from both Huawei and CATL — offers strong competitiveness compared to rivals like the Xiaomi SU7 and Tesla Model 3.
